Make a Difference for Creation: Stories for your great, great, great, great, great grandchildren
Sunday, October 4, 2020

Online Resources are now available for parents, youth sponsors, pastors etc. to use with their junior youth.

We will all tell our grandkids stories about 2020.  A pandemic has shut down normal life; systemic racism has sparked worldwide protests and climate strikes have made young voices louder and clearer than ever before.  We’re finally realizing that we really are all in this together.  Every breath we take literally connects us to each other, to the earth and to future generations.  This year let's imagine how we can use each breath to make a difference together for Creation. We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build a better world for everyone: now is the time.  Let’s give our great (x5) grandchildren something to talk about!

Resource Speaker: Scott Morton-Ninomiya

Scott Morton NinomiyaScott Morton Ninomiya is a PhD student at University of Waterloo.  His research focuses on how people of all ages can take local action to speed up the global transition away from fossil fuels.  In the community, he leads a growing group of local Mennonite churches taking collaborative climate action; he also helps to lead MCEC’s Truth and Reconciliation work with Indigenous peoples.

His family attends St Jacobs Mennonite Church – including his three kids: Maya (19); Aidan (17) and Bertha (14).  His wife Melody is a professor at Wilfrid Laurier University.  He is a certified as a yoga instructor and loves to paddle and hike.
