Message from our Eco-Minister

I hope that this summer you are able to find time to renew your spirit and find rest for your soul while connecting with creation. I also know that by now churches are gearing up for the fall. To help you and your congregation grow in your capacity to engage in eco-ministry and creation care, consider engaging in these opportunities coming up in September. 

The Rooted and Grounded Conference at AMBS September 28-30. Find out more here. Registration is free for participants from MCEC (thanks to a continuing education scholarship). When you register, select ‘pay by cheque’ and then send them an email jbjohnson@ambs.edu indicating that you are using that scholarship. (You still need to cover your own lodging costs.) Also, I am driving and am willing to coordinate a carpool. Please let me know if you’d like to catch a ride. wjanzen@mcec.ca 
 
The Season of Creation is coming up! September 1st – October 4th has been designated as an annual liturgical season to celebrate and dig into ecological themes in worship. You can find resources on the Season of Creation website, CommonWord resource centre, or Church in the Wild’s Holy Ground worship series (used by St Jacobs Mennonite Church in 2022).
