MCEC Welcomes Micah Peters Unrau as Church Engagement Associate
August 20th
MCEC is pleased to announce that Micah Peters Unrau will join the team as church engagement associate in September 2025. In this new role, Micah will help our community of congregations grow in awareness of one another and participate more fully in the shared ministry of the wider church.
He will be available to speak in congregations, connect with leaders and foster relationships between congregations—helping us learn from one another through shared stories of congregational life, encouraging leaders, and energizing the church for God’s mission.
“I love finding compelling yet thoughtful ways to share about faith and to encourage others to live into God’s work together,” says Micah. “I see the work of Jesus differently when I connect with other congregations.”
Micah is deeply committed to the church. He has been a regular speaker at his home congregation, Hillcrest Mennonite Church, since the age of 13, when he began writing and leading prayers. Since then, his experience has grown to include preaching sermons, participating in public forums, competing in an oratorical contest, facilitating a film premier, and now completing his Master of Divinity degree.
"We are thrilled to welcome Micah into this new role,” says Anthony Siegrist, executive minister. “His passion, creativity, and commitment to building relationships will be a tremendous asset and I’m confident that his energy and vision will help us grow together in faith and community."
Watch for more details in early September about booking Micah to speak in your congregation.
