Shalom, Guelph began meeting in 2018, renting space in a community centre. During the pandemic, the congregation met primarily online, a practice that has continued for various aspects of their ministry. Following the lockdowns, the congregation entered into a rental agreement with Crestwicke Bible Church where they continue to meet on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoon and evening.

Guided by their leadership team of Hizbay Niguse (Pastor), Saliem Mengistaab (Teaching/English Pastor) and Yared Zacharias (Administration), they are a branch of Shalom Worship and Healing Centre, an MCEC congregation in Kitchener, ON.

The English congregation is also growing rapidly.

The congregation has begun an English worship service that serves the youth and young adults from both the Kitchener and Guelph locations. The English congregation is growing rapidly as the youth invite their friends to join them.

Shalom Church Guelph has been accepted into provisional membership in MCEC by the Executive Council. They will be welcomed at the Annual Church Gathering in April 2024 in Leamington, ON.
