Stories from our churches: I love to hear and share stories from our congregations about any ‘green’ initiatives they are engaging in! Recently, Waterloo North Mennonite Church was featured in this story from Mennonite Creation Care Network for having installed a heat pump in their building. If your church is looking at a new furnace or other upgrades in the next year or two, remember that Mennonite Church Canada has an Emissions Reductions Grant. The first batch of grants will be announced soon. Watch for the announcement of when the 2024 round of grant applications open. And, if your church has a creation care story to share, please let me know!

Event Announcement: Mennonite World Conference’s Climate Action Task Force and the Anabaptist Climate Collaborative are partnering on a Climate Pollinators Webinar Series every Tuesday beginning October 17th. These will include storytelling of how Anabaptists from around the world are affected by climate change and are responding with resilient action and gospel hope. Find out more here. These are open to all, so please share this in your bulletin.

Connecting: Does your church have a ‘Green Team,’ ‘Creation Care’ group, or a ‘Climate Justice’ committee? I’d love to connect with them, and possibly connect them with our MCEC Creation Care Resource Group or with teams from other congregations. Please direct someone from your church’s group to me. Thanks!
