Administrative & Financial Services Council
The AFSC manages the fiscal, legal, property, and administrative aspects of MCEC as a corporation in keeping with the MCEC Statement of Identity and Purpose (Extending the Peace of Jesus Christ - making disciples - growing congregations - forming leaders) to provide a supportive framework for the MCEC ministries.
Membership: Four persons elected to three year terms.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration that facilitates and supports the nurture and release of ministry gifts in the congregations of MCEC.
- Provide a place of support and resource for the Operations Minister.
- Give leadership and direction in setting policies for financial responsibility and accountability; assure required annual corporate reporting.
- See to the development of the annual spending plan for MCEC.
- Participate in a consultative process with Mennonite Church Canada in developing annual pastoral salary guidelines.
- Review the MCEC Staff Salary Grid annually and make appropriate adjustments.
- Supervise the administration of all funds established for the benefit of MCEC.
- Relate to other denominational and ecumenical financial and mutual aid bodies for the benefit of MCEC.
- Appoint such ad hoc committees or reference groups as may be necessary from time to time.
