Congregational Ministries Council
The CMC shall encourage and facilitate healthy congregational life through the discovery and release of God given gifts in keeping with the MCEC Statement of Identity and Purpose - Extending the Peace of Jesus Christ - making disciples, growing congregations, forming leaders.
Membership: Seven members elected to three year terms.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration that nurtures the development and training of ministry resources for healthy congregational life.
- Provide a place of support and resource for the Congregational Ministries Minister.
- Invite congregations to claim and respond to God's abundant generosity through acts of faithful stewardship.
- Provide supportive ministry resources through congregational facilitation, and nurture connections among congregations, ministry partners, and resource providers.
- Monitor the need for MCEC based resources and events for benefit of congregational ministry (i.e.: VBS Troupe, Jr. Youth Breakaway, Youth Retreats and Events, Young Adult learning trips). Where such benefit is determined, appoint reference groups to facilitate the ministry.
- Relate to denominational and ecumenical bodies in curriculum development and the development of other resources for the strengthening of congregational life.
- Develop and maintain a network of ministry resources and partnerships (i.e.: web-based, camps, schools, MFC, MSCU, Teaching Circle, et cetera).
