There's No ATM in the Wilderness
Daily Reflections for Lent

by Various Authors

There's No ATM in the Wilderness provides a unique and provactive journey of Lenten reflection and invitation to action. The path to the cross and Easter morning receives fresh interpretation as experienced through the lens of our relationship with money. Familiar assumptions are challenged and provocative questions rasied, inviting honest, sincere accounting of our relationship with self, others, God and God's world. Grounded in scripture, prayer and song, this resource has the potential to open the door for God's Spirit to lovingly and firmly reshape us as God's people.

A favourite quote of mine is "We need to break the silence about money. This sentiment is often expressed in church circles and entire stewardship events have been developed on the theme. Actually, though, we frequently talk about money - mostly about how much stuff costs. What we are silent about is the significance of money in our lives - how it both affects and reflects our relationships with God, with others and with the earth."
