In Tune With God: The Art of Congregational Discernment
by Sally Weaver Glick

This well written text engages the reader in both the "how to" of congregational discernment and the spiritual disposition necessary to implement it. Using allegory, drama and insightful instruction we are challenged to hear God's music of love and mercy above, maybe even through, the static of our own lives. The book is written as a study guide for congregational contexts and includes group tips and a leader's guide to help you along the way.

Taking time to read this book is a meaningful next step for leaders and congregations who found themselves inspired by the recent MCEC consultation on the life of the church where together we looked at discernment. The skills needed and fundamental embrace of discernment as characteristic of the church are just two reasons why I recommend this as a good read for you.

A favourite quote of mine is "...as we journey together there will be moments of vision and awareness of God's work in the world, moments when we know who we are and to what we are called. When true discernment happens, creativity is released, energy is freed for tackling problems together, and relationships with God and one another are strengthened."
