Resources on Israel and Palestine

The following are resources to help us discern and seek common responses to the ongoing lack of peace in Palestine/Israel.

Kairos Palestine Document

The Kairos Palestine Document is a statement written by leaders of Christian churches in Israel and Palestine about the situation that they encounter there every day.   This is a profound statement of their perspectives on the situation of current politics, daily realities of occupation, and also a declaration of their faith in following Jesus Christ.    This document is can be downloaded at http://www.oikoumene.org/gr/resources/documents/other-ecumenical-bodies/kairos-palestine-document.html.

Learning Tour to Israel/Palestine

MC Canada is working with Glenn Witmer to promote a learning tour to Israel/Palestine expected during February 25 to March 10, 2012.  This will include attending a conference at Bethlehem Bible College, March 5-9, called “Christ at the Checkpoint”.  Tour details are not out yet, but we hope to promote this shortly.  Church members and especially pastors and church leaders are encouraged to consider this learning tour.

Palmer Becker Palmer Becker, is now completing a two month intensive teaching assignment with MC Canada Witness at Bethlehem Bible College.  He may be a good resource speaker to various MCEC churches after his return in April.
Hinke Lowen-Rudgers Hinke Loewen-Rudgers will be in Canada for at least 12 month, starting in May 2011, due to visa restrictions in Israel.  She will be visiting several MCEC congregations this summer, and other congregations may also be interested to have her resource their churches later in fall or next winter.  These congregations may contact Norm Dyck at MC Canada about making such arrangements.  (1-866-888-6785)
