 Pastoral ministry is carried out in the context of relationships. Sometimes these relationships are conflictual, sometimes they are intense or intimate, sometimes they are friendly or collaborative, and sometimes businesslike. Responsible pastors are required to constantly assess the relationships they are involved in and to respond in a way that brings healing and growth to the other while caring for oneself.
