Maria and Jose
A new bride and mother, Maria*, longs for the day when her husband, Jose, will once again stand at her side. A Canadian resident, Maria fell in love with Jose, a refugee claimant, but soon after they had found one another and started a life together with a child, Jose's refugee claim was denied and he was deported. Maria followed him to Mexico where they married.
Maria returned to Canada and started spousal sponsorship, but the process turned into a nightmare when the Canadian Embassy requested a DNA test for the child to legitimate their relationship. Maria's struggle continues today as she waits for her husband to return, and she turns to the Mennonite New Life Centre of Toronto, an MCEC supported ministry, for emotional and practical support addressing urgent financial needs.
Please pray for Maria.
