A Gift Exchange

With a desire to help others and explore her interest and gift in teaching, Marie-Hélène* volunteered at Maison de l’amitié. She took to her teaching assignment like a fish to water.

In the spirit of the centre, she excelled at creating community and thoroughly enjoyed working with students from around the world. Her love for her task, her students and the French language were evident in her classes. Marie was only with us a short time, before finding a job as a second language teacher. During that short time, she contributed much and we will miss her. We were happy to provide an opportunity for her to explore her gifts, while she helped newcomers prepare for life in Canada in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. *not her real name
