Discovering the Grace of God
At the age of six, Chinda Kommala and his mother became refugees after a military raid that burnt their house to the ground. His life became entangled by war. At the age of 15 he joined the army but left at the horizon of communism in Laos.
Read more as Chinda, now Church Planter of Lao Canadian Evangelical Mennonite Church, tells his story of finding Jesus Christ and discovering the grace of God.

Since 2006, Lao Canadian Evangelical Mennonite Church has been part of the MCEC community of congregations and receives assistance as an MCEC supported ministry. Your gifts to MCEC help this congregation as they reach into the Laotion and Canadian communities in Toronto, ON with the love of Jesus Christ. MWC - More Than Just A Fun Trip
"As I packed my bags and began the spiritual and mental preparation for the trip, I was both excited and nervous about the thought of entering a country with a different culture and language." Deborah-Ruth Ferber, North Leamington United Mennonite Church, joined youth from across MCEC in the Come Together trip to Mennonite World Conference in Paraguay.
Discover how God increased her desire to be a leader within the church.

Through the hard work of the MCEC Coordinator, Anne Campion, along with her team, and through the support of MCEC, youth from across MCEC came together to learn, play and grow as they prepared for and took part in this past summer's Mennonite World Conference in Paraguay. Their blog is still accessible and is a window into their experience that is well worth looking through. With your support, together we can offer more learning trips and experiences like this as we continue to work at making disciples, growing congregations, and forming leaders.

Ministry Through the Gift of Hospitality
"When Vicky, our eldest child, was on the Mennonite Youth Council of Eastern Canada in the late 1980's, she was involved in planning a winter retreat. They needed a cook. She said, 'Mom, you could do that.' So it began. A few years later I was still cooking for the winter youth retreats. You never know where it will lead you when you offer to help."
Find out how Dianne Roeder's gift of hospitality has extended the peace of Christ to many around her.

As a community of congregations we are able to minister together in ways we can not on our own. Each year there are various areas in need of volunteers from answering the phone in the office, preparing materials for meetings, working on task groups or working with congregations dealing with pastoral reviews or searches. Please email us if you are interested in volunteering with the MCEC office. Please visit our donation pages to learn more about giving opportunities.
